About the Authors
Mushashi Tachikawa is professor at the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, Japan. (Ph.D.,
Harvard University [l975]: D. Litt., Nagoya University  formerly taught at Nagoya
University (1970-92) and is now professor at the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka.
Masahide Mori (Ph.D., London University [l975]: is Associate Professor in Buddhist Studies
at the University of Koyasan, Japan.
